AT SILLIMAN The Silliman University Faculty Union in Dumaguete City is poised to file a notice to strike against the administration that it claimed had violated provisions of their Collective Bargaining Agreement. The union is expected to file the notice to strike Monday before the National Conciliation and Mediation Board in Cebu City, after which, a 15-day cooling off period will start for the union members to conduct the strike vote in the presence of a representative of the Department of Labor and Employment. SUFA union president, Vic Aguilan, said the university
was supposed to comply with the supplemental increase agreement at the
end of the first semester in March this year, based on the hike in the
number of students retroactive in June of last year. |
