Bro. Rolando Dizon, chairman of the Bacolod Economic
and Business Council, yesterday clarified the stand of the BEBC
on the location of the new government center after it was reportedly
perceived that they were opposed to the Taculing site.
The BEBC has included in its recommendation to
Mayor Evelio Leonardia the BREDCO property as a possible site
for the new government center, aside from the Bacolod Murcia Milling
Co. area in Burgos Street and the Guanzon property in Brgy. Mansilingan.
"I think the BREDCO issue is incidental," Dizon said. The BEBC
was created by the mayor because he felt that he needs a group
to help him promote a better business and economic environment
for the city, he said.
