SP dismisses raps
vs. Murcia officials
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental yesterday dismissed the administrative complaints for grave abuse of authority filed against Mayor Esteban Coscolluela and Murcia municipal treasurer Inocentes Conte.

However, the dismissal of the administrative charges against Coscolluela and Conte is without prejudice to the filing of complaints against them at the appropriate forum, Board Member Corazon Diploma, chairperson of the SP committee on Laws and Ordinances, said.

Diploma also said the SP has no jurisdiction to hear and investigate the complaint filed against Conte who is not an elective official of Murcia town.

The complaints stemmed from the claims of Lina Lazanas that Coscolluela and Conte were collecting market rentals, in the absence of any ordinance, which the two denied. Meanwhile, Coscolluela is also facing another set of administrative complaints filed against him by Murcia Councilor Helen Clavecillas, a retired police officer, which has not been resolved yet by the SP.*GPB
