Negrense jail escapee linked
to E.B Magalona, LBC heists
A Negrense who escaped from the Antique Provincial
Jail and who is facing several criminal cases in court, was identified
by the police to be among the suspects who held up a softdrink delivery
truck recently in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
Senior Inspector Santiago Rapiz, E.B. Magalona
police, yesterday said they are also verifying reports of the involvement
of jail escapee Michael Bando Dionson in the hold-up of the LBC
Express Inc. office in Bacolod City.
Police records show that Dionson, a resident
of Sitio Banilad 1, Brgy. Nanca, E.B. Magalona, has pending arrest
warrants for robbery with homicide in Talisay City, carnapping in
Bacolod City, and robbery in Silay City.
Rapiz said Dionson and two of his companions
flagged down and robbed of P30,000 at gunpoint a softdrink delivery
truck driven by Jose Managuit on March 25 in Brgy. Nanca, E.B. Magalona.
Police investigations show that Managuit was
also robbed of P6,000 in cash by the same suspects in the barangay
last year.
Rapiz said Dionson, who used to be a member of
the Otso Oros Gang which was recently busted by the Talisay police,
escaped from the Antique Provincial Jail in 2003.
Judge Ramon Delariarte, who issued an arrest
warrant against Dionson and Leonardo Taņelon for carnapping charges,
has denied them bail.
On the other hand, Silay Regional Trial Court
Judge Felipe Banzon has recommended a P100,000 bail for Dionson
on robbery charges.
Rapiz said he is now coordinating with the Bacolod
City Police Office in the immediate recapture of Dionson whose group
is considered by the police as "armed and dangerous".*GPB
