Man nabbed for shooting wife

A man believed to be high on illegal drugs shot his wife in their house in Brgy. Palaslan, Tayasan, Oriental Negros, recently.

The victim was identified as Lilibeth Callao, 23, and her husband as Eliajem Callao, 27, a mason.

Lilibeth, who landed at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City, admitted that her husband is hooked on illegal drugs. She said he got angry with her without any provocation, took a .38 caliber revolver and shot her in the chin. He escaped but was later arrested by responding policemen.

In another report, a man hacked two persons, one of them his nephew, for no apparent reason in their house in Brgy. Bagacay, Dumaguete City.

The suspect, Joeffrey Wong, hacked Serwin Uy, 18, his nephew and Cecilio Rigor, 46, married, of Colon Extension, Dumaguete. Both suffered minor wounds.

They said that Wong, who was staying in the same house, barged in and attacked his nephew hitting him in the back.

Rigor, who tried to intervene, was injured in his hand. Police later arrested Wong.* RG
