Bacolod jungolf standout Mia Piccio has joined the national training pool under the tutelage of Bong Lopez, coach of Filipina LPGA standout Jennifer Rosales.

A veteran of many international junior golf tournaments, Piccio, a sophomore at St. John's Institute, is part of the pool of players that includes Bacoleņa Anya Tanpinco, Piccio's father-coach Ernesto told the DAILY STAR.

The other players in the pool are RP Open winner Debbie De Villa, Lora Roberto, Dottie Ardina, Cyna Rodriguez, Crystal Superal, Paulina Sotto and Bambie de la Paz.

The members of the national coaching staff, headed by Lopez, are Chris Guerrero, Tony Lascuņa and Nestor Mendoza.

Among Piccio's accomplishments is her second place finish in the inaugural staging of the RP women's amateur in her home-course at NOGCC, where she battled Frances Bondad in the finals. *CPT
