Jayme set to answer
'cheating' allegations
BY CHRISTIAN IRL TAN

Beleaguered baseball coach Narciso Jayme is expected to submit his written explanation today for allegedly fielding an ineligible player in the Western Visayas Regional Athletics Association Meet in Roxas City, Capiz last week.

Superintendent Eva Belicena of the Negros Occidental Schools Division has issued a memorandum Thursday to secondary boys' baseball mentor Jayme directing him to explain in writing why he fielded a player who was not included in the initial line-up of his team.

Jayme appeared before the Neg. Occ. Department of Education Friday to explain but was told by Belicena to put it in writing and submit it to her office today.

Jayme, who coaches at the Dr. Antonio Lizares Memorial High School in Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, inserted team trainer Mark Jerota in the semifinals game against Capiz in the regional meet.

The Capizeņos lodged a complaint against Negros that was upheld by the Board of Jury, which also declared the forfeiture of all the Negrenses' games in the tournament. Belicena said Jayme's explanation will be forwarded to the office of regional director Victoriano Tirol Jr.

The controversy involving Jayme smeared the successful campaign of Negros in the regional school-based competitions from which it brought home the overall championships in the elementary and secondary levels.*CIT
