'Japan funding aid
not for RP interest'
BY RENE GENOVE

A Japanese researcher said the funding aid to the Philippines of her government benefited her country more than the Filipinos.

Japanese nurse, Kayoko Teshigawara, is in the Philippines to research on the effects of the migration of Filipino medical practitioners to the health delivery systems in the Country.

Kayoko was in Canlaon City, Oriental Negros, as part of her research on the medical and health delivery situations in strategic areas of the province.

Tanjay to build
P30-million bus terminal

BY RENE GENOVE

The Tanjay City Sanggunian has started deliberations on a plan to build a P30-million integrated bus terminal and motorpool on a six-hectare government land near Square Garden, three kilometers from the city center.

Councilor Erkki Lozarita said the project aims at decongesting traffic in the center of the city and to encourage economic growth in the sparsely populated site outside the city proper.

Lozarita described the project as pro-poor because it would benefit small vendors by opening new businesses in the terminal complex.

VERSUS CRIMES
Reward system backed

Dumaguete City chief of police Supt. Dionardo Carlos said he is open to a proposal to pay reward money to citizens who provide information or who arrest criminal suspects linked to the series of snatching and hold-up incidents in Dumageute City.

The proposal was recommended by different sectors of the community.

However, the police chief said any help, by any means, to inform the police about criminal activities, and not necessarily by expecting monetary reward, would help his command to solve crimes.
