VERSUS CRIMES
Reward system backed

Dumaguete City chief of police Supt. Dionardo Carlos said he is open to a proposal to pay reward money to citizens who provide information or who arrest criminal suspects linked to the series of snatching and hold-up incidents in Dumageute City.

The proposal was recommended by different sectors of the community.

However, the police chief said any help, by any means, to inform the police about criminal activities, and not necessarily by expecting monetary reward, would help his command to solve crimes.

Carlos said, his intelligence unit is now focusing on leads against those responsible for the continuing incidents of snatchings and hold-ups in Dumaguete City.

Like his predecessors, Carlos also appealed to the community, particularly witnesses of crimes, to help the police.

He said community cooperation could help strengthen police work, especially when they elevate criminal cases to the court.*
