25-year-old killed
in road mishap
BY GUILLERMO TEJIDA III

A resident of Brgy. Su-ay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental was killed when the tricycle she and five other passengers were riding, collided with a Fuzo truck, at about 8:30 p.m., Thursday, at Binigsi-an road, Brgy. RSB, in La Carlota City.

The traffic division of the La Carlota Philippine National Police identified the victim as Carmen Dulla. The tricycle driver was identified as Rico Torres, 34, of the same barangay.

Traffic investigator PO3 Edgar Lobaton Sr. said that the tricycle with body no. 790 and plate number FR-4476 was owned by Gado Torres, while the truck driver was Kerbie Amardecer, 23, single, of Bago City.

The truck with plate number SWS-897 is owned by Francis Milabo, also of Bago, police reports said. The tricycle driver allegedly failed to notice the sugarcane spillage on the road due to the brightness of the head light of the truck, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

Dulla, who was thrown to the ground, was subsequently ran over by the truck, causing her instantaneous death, traffic investigations showed.

The other passengers of the tricycle were Evalyn Sidiro; Florie Albay, 33, married, Grace Joy Malasibog, 19, and Emma Rodriguez, 54, married, all of Sitio Bucalan, Brgy. RSB; and Girlie Villanueva, 13, of Central Azucarera de La Carlota compound. Of them, only Sidiro was injured and had to be brought to a hospital in Bacolod City.

The drivers of the truck and the tricycle turned themselves in to the police.*
