Father, son hack neighbor
A 56-year-old man and his two sons were arrested
by Precinct 10 policemen for reportedly hacking their 27-year-old
neighbor in Purok Kipot, Brgy. Felisa, Bacolod City, at about 8
p.m. Thursday.
Detained at Police Precinct 10 were Jose Ventoloso,
and his sons Danilo, 20, and Jerry, 27 for allegedly hacking Aristotle
Carano-o Bandola hitting him in his neck and other parts of his
body, police reports said. Bandola is now confined at the Corazon
Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. The motive of the
hacking is still being investigated by Police Precinct 10.
Meanwhile, Alfredo Castillo, 26, married,
of Las Palmas, Doņa Juliana Subdivision in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod
City was also rushed to the CLMMRH with stab wound in his left elbow
allegedly inflicted by a certain Donato Magbanua with a stainless
steel knife while he was in the waiting shed of the subdivision
at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Magbanua managed to escape and is still at-large,

ID needs 250
candidate-troopers
Wanted: Candidate soldiers for the 3rd Infantry Division
of the Army.
Capt. Renante Besa, 3rd ID spokesman, yesterday
said they are now recruiting 250 able-bodied men and women who will
undergo the candidate soldier training course, which is among the
requirements to be a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Qualified applicants must be 18 and not more
than 26 years old upon enlistment, 5 feet and 4 inches for men and
5 feet and 2 inches tall for women, must have acquired at least
72 units in college, unmarried, physically and mentally fit for
training, with good moral character and habits, and must be a natural-born
Filipino.
Besa said successful applicants will undergo
a three-month training on candidate soldier course, and another
three months for jungle warfare and mountain operations course.
The 3rd ID has field units deployed to Negros,
Panay, Cebu and Bohol.
Besa said applicants may file their application
letters to the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel
(G1) of the Philippine Army, or may contact the nearest Army Reservists
Office in their respective areas.*GPB
