The Bayawan City police confiscated recently 1,600 board feet
of coconut lumber and the cargo truck hauling it, for failure of
the driver to present a transport permit for them.
The Fuso truck was passing along Brgy. Villareal, Bayawan
City when the police mobile checkpoint flagged it down and inspected
the cargo.
The truck driver, Mamerto Ortiz, 40, of Katipunan, Zamboanga
del Norte, failed to present a permit to transport the cargo
. Further investigation revealed that the truck was registered
in the name of Hadji Rashid Macasimbar, of Mabini Street, Brgy.
