'B' sugar prices recover;
return above P1,200/Lkg

Millgate prices of "B" or raw sugar bounced back this week after sliding below P1,200 per-50 Lkg. at the bidding on March 16.

Price monitors show that "B" sugar prices ranged from P1,200 to P1,254 per Lkg. on Thursday while last week, between P1,150 and P1,213.89.

At the bidding on March 23, VMC's VMC cooperative and VIMACA sold its stocks at P1,200; HPCO's UNIFED, P1,254.18 and AHSSI/APSSI, P1,252.86; Central Azucarera de La Carlota's UNIFED, P1,240.08 and AALCPI, P1,240.36;

SONEDCO's Kabilog, Sonepa, SPDA, CASPLA and Sonademco, P1,208.56; BISCOM'S Ipobi, P1,229, PASON, P1, 228;

Bipa, P1,233, and Department of Labor and Employment, P1,222;

Sagay Central Inc.'s Northern Negros, P1,210; Lopez's ANAPI, P1,200;

Passi I and Passi II, P1,252; and Pilar, P1,242.

This week, VMC cooperative sold 17,533.82 Lkgs.; HPCO's UNIFED, 2,733.57, AHSSI/APSSI, 13,967.71; CAC's UNIFED, 2,225.70; SONEDCO's Kabilog, 11,421.70; BISCOM'S PASON, 11,157.77; Bipa, 11,053.13; and DOLE, 9,314.10.

Prices of "B" sugar were between only P1,205 and P1,285 per Lkg. on March 2 and between P1,185 and P1,255 on March 9.

Meawhile, prices of "A" or US export sugar were sold between P1,055 and P1,078 per Lkg. while molasses were disposed between P5,700 and P6,100 per Lkg.*NLG
