3 cities, 6 towns
vulnerable to attacks
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Three cities and six municipal police stations in Negros Occidental have been classified by the Philippine National Police as highly-vulnerable to New People's Army attacks.

They include those of Candoni, Cauayan, Hinobaan, Ilog, Isabela and Moises Padilla towns and the cities of Himamaylan, Kabankalan and Sipalay.

Senior Supt. Charles Calima, provincial police director, has ordered the police chiefs of the nine towns and cities to maintain vigilance and strengthen their defenses.

The New People's Army celebrates its 27th founding anniversary on March 29.

Police records show that four police stations and detachments in Negros Occidental, Zambales, Misamis Occidental and Cagayan have been raided by the New People's Army from March 9 to 20, and 23 firearms, including an M60 machine gun, were seized.

The raid at the Malasibog detachment in Escalante, Negros Occidental, on March 19 had caught the two policemen and eight Civilian Volunteer's Organization members off guard.

Col. Jerry Jalandoni, newly-installed 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, yesterday said they may take over the Malasibog detachment from the 1st PMG.*GPB
