Hitting three birds with one stone?
The barangay captain of Brgy. Zone 10 in Talisay City, Negros
Occidental, is being accused by his second "wife" of neglecting
his financial obligations and paternal responsibilities to their
6 and 8-year-old kids.
In her complaint before the Talisay Interior and Local Government
Office, Jenolin Avancena Nietes of Purok Kabulakan, Brgy. Zone 10,
Talisay accused barangay captain Alfredo "Toto" Nietes, of neglect,
and is claiming support for their children, Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod
reported yesterday. She said she has a copy of their certificate
of marriage, and the certificates of live birth of their two children,
to prove that she is the legal wife, radio reports added.
Jenolin also alleged that her husband has in his possession
her family and her own insurance certificates which have been issued
by the city government of Talisay, as assistance to indigents.
She said the insurance certificates were for herself, Ernesto
Avancena, Ofeelia Avancena and Erjun Avancena, Aksyon Radyo further
reported.
Jenolin is also claiming that her husband has been living
with another woman, Alicia Nietes, and allegedly his first "wife,"
who has a 15-year-old daughter and living in his house at Purok
Rosal 2, Brgy. Zone 10.
Jenolin said Alicia has also complained about having been
beaten up twice by her husband, first sometime last year, and then
on March 17.
She further told the DILG officer of Talisay that Alicia,
who is presently employed at the Registrar's Office of the city
government, has been also been claiming to be the true legal wife
of her husband.
And, citing rumors from Brgy. Zone 10 residents, Jenolin
said her husband's third "wife" is his former treasurer in the barangay
whom he married, and who is now pregnant.
"My husband is not a Muslim by religion but a Christian Roman
Catholic. However, there are three of us presently claiming to be
his legal wives, and all of us reside in Brgy. Zone 10, where he
is barangay captain," Jenolin further stated in documents she furnished
the DILG Secretary, the DILG Region 6 office, Talisay Mayor Eric
Saratan, Aksyon Radyo, and ABS-CBN television network.*GCT
