The Negros Occidental Productivity Center was inaugurated
yesterday with Gov. Joseph Maraņon, leading the blessing and inauguration
rites.
The project is part of thrust of the Technology
Livelihood and Development Center to strengthen the delivery of
technology transfer and livelihood trainings to community-based
entrepreneurs in the province.
Maraņon said the operation of the Productivity
Center marks another milestone towards the fulfillment of the
trade and investment promotions agenda of his administration.



Toll packaging
plant eyed in Visayas
The Packaging Research and Development Center of
the Industrial Technology Development Institute is planning to
establish Satellite Packaging Service and Testing Centers in strategic
areas nationwide to fast track packaging assistance outside Metro
Manila.
The Department of Science and Technology said in
a press release that the first of these satellite plants established
in Bulacan started operation in December 2005.
The implementation of a Toll Packaging Plant and
Services project is seen to boost the development of Small and
Medium Enterprises especially in raising product quality systems.



SuperFerry
offers
perks to Negrenses
Shipping company SuperFerry is offering lower fares
and free shuttle service and giving away cash prizes in its promo
for passengers in Negros Occidental.
SuperFerry said in a press release that they have
cut fare rates by 40 percent to only P1,200 for its Manila-Bacolod
trips and vice versa.
Andrew Deyto, assistant vice president for sales
and marketing, said that the reduced fares indicate Superferry's
serious effort to make travel more affordable.
