The deadline for entries in the 2006 Monico Cup Inter-Barangay Summer Basketball Tournament is at 5 p.m. today at the Congressional District Office in Bacolod City.

A financial subsidy of P2,000 will be given for each of the squads that will compete in the event that will kick off on April 7 at the Bacolod Arts and Youth Center, Rep. Monico Puentevella said.

About 37 teams --- 16 in the 19-Under category and 21 in the 26-Under division --- have confirmed their entries in the tournament, which is chaired by Nicky Puentevella.

Squads that have signified their entry in the 19-Under category of the summer hostilities are Tangub, Barangay 2 and Singcang-Airport in Bracket A; Granada, Bata, Brgy. 14 and Cabug in Bracket B; Mansilingan, Brgy. 12, Pta. Taytay and Brgy. 16 in Bracket C, and Banago, Montevista, Brgy. 18 and Pahanocoy in Bracket D.

Confirming their entry in the 26-Under competitions are Singcang-Airport, Bata, Brgys. 36, 25, 9, 3, 2, 56, 7, 21, 10, 17 and 25, Banago, Tangub, Pta. Taytay and Pahanocoy. *CIT
