Businessmen donate
P40T to city police
BY RENE GENOVE

Two businessmen here who preferred to remain anonymous donated P40,000 to the city Philippine National Police to help in its campaign against crimes.

The donation was in response to the appeal of Mayor Agustin Perdices to the business sector to help improve police services.

Perdices made the appeal during the turnover of command at the city PNP between Chief Insp. Manuel Hidalgo and Supt. Dionardo Carlos early this month.

In his message, the mayor had committed P2 million to the police force and asked the business community if they could also give their share since they were the top beneficiaries of better police services.

Perdices said the two donors gave the aid directly to the city PNP that will decide how to use the money.

The mayor said he was happy with the response and hoped other businessmen will follow their example. If all businessmen gave their share, he said, the police could expand their services by adding new facilities.*RG
