Novero may not agree
to Taculing site
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Acting Bacolod Mayor Renecito Novero yesterday said he may not agree with the decision of the Mayor to construct a government center in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.

"But I'm not saying that my conformity to the decision of Mayor Evelio Leonardia is already closed," Novero said. "Initially, I think we can look for better sites than Taculing," he said. He will cooperate with whatever choice the SP makes, he added.

If the SP will not cooperate with the Mayor in passing an appropriation ordinance for the construction of the government center that will be a problem, Novero said.

If their opinion is the same, the Mayor will have no problem getting an authority, he said, so he believes Leonardia should explain and justify his choice of the Taculing site. He also said he is not speaking for all the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Meanwhile, Councilor Homer Bais said the city should consult the business sector on what they believe would be an ideal site for the new government center. He learned that the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental prefer the Taculing site, he said.

Bais also said the SP will invite City Legal Officer Allan Zamora and City Administrator Lorendo Dilag during their session on Thursday to clarify Executive Order No. 6, ordering the construction of a new government center in Taculing.*CGS
