The Province of Oriental Negros has allocated a
premium of P1 million for the purchase of palay through the National
Food Authority's Palay Marketing Assistance for Legislators and
Local Government Units.
NFA said in its report released this week that
the amount is equivalent to an additional P2 per kilogram on top
of the support price set by the agency that recently entered into
an agreement with provincial government of Oriental Negros with
rice requirement of 10,000 bags.
Under the marketing assistance program, which seeks
to maximize the income of palay farmers, the NFA enters into agreements
with LGUs and legislators to provide additional premium for the
purchase of palay. 


Sugar
prices continue fall
Prices of "B" or raw sugar dipped further this week,
hitting the P1,150 per 50-kilo Lkg. level, price monitor shows.
In the last three weeks, prices have continued
to fall. It was between P1,205 and P1,285 per Lkg. on March 2;
between P1,185 and P1,255 on March 9; and between P1,150 and P1,213.89
on March 16.
At the bidding Thursday, HPCO's UNIFED sold its
"B" stocks at P1,213.89 and AHSSI/APSSI, P1,212.89; Central Azucarera
de La Carlota's UNIFED, P1,195.89 and AALCPI, P1,200; 


Kabayan
Hotels promo on
Kabayan Hotels yesterday announced its 5th anniversary
offering dubbed, "Bigay Hilig sa Presyong Sulit," that offers
promo rates with added premiums.
Marketing manager Jake Mercado II said at a press
conference in Bacolod City yesterday that the promo, which runs
until May 31, 2006, is available at Kabayan Hotel Pasay and Kabayan
Hotel Cubao that serves overseas Filipino workers and provincial-based
travelers.
Mercado said that the 109-room Kabayan Hotel Pasay
continues to enjoy 96 percent occupancy rate and has an average
of four guests daily from Bacolod. He said that their promo, available
for Premium, Deluxe and Superior Rooms, includes breakfast for
two at Pinoy Star Café; roundtrip airport transfers to Kabayan
Hotel Pasay, and roundtrip bus terminal transfers to Kabayan Hotel
Cubao; mobile phone load; a choice of MRT or LRT card worth P100;
and unlimited local phone calls.
