MJ nips Crismar;
forces Game 3

MJ Enterprises nipped Crismar Enterprises, 60-54, to force a winner-take-all Game 3 in the championship showdown of the Your Basketball Athletic Club tournament at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City recently. Trailing 20-28 at halftime, the MJ cagers employed stifling defense in the third quarter to limit Crismar to a measly 6 points in the frame and pull within 33-34 going into the fourth period.

Dods Siopan and Mayo Salazar then picked up the scoring slack for MJ in the payoff quarter by pouring in 7 and 6 points, respectively, to seal the victory for their squad in Game 2.

Salazar finished with a game-high 16 points to spearhead MJ's attack, while Siopan contributed 11 markers. Backstopping the leading scorers of MJ was Nonoy Tan as he added 10 points.

Crismar, which posted a 69-63 victory in Game 1, was powered by Roger Jaype as he canned 13 points, while Jun Luces registered 11 markers. Dennis Adon and Umping Hortilla chipped in 10 points each in a losing cause.

In the battle for third, Ox Builders came-from-behind to clip Marjesse Enterprises, 56-52, to arrange a sudden death Game 3 encounter.

After enduring an 18-28 deficit at intermission, Ox Builders outscored Marjesse 9-6 in the third quarter before Rene Villacanas exploded for 9 points in the fourth period to lead his team to a Game 2 triumph.

Villacanas anchored Ox Builders' offense as he shot 15 points. Also making solid contributions for the Builders were Alehp Esparagoza and Caloy Centeno as they scored 11 and 9 markers, respectively.

Topscoring for Marjesse was Embo Caņete after he posted 14 points, while Tony Valiente and Joenel Anico finished with 11 and 10 markers, respectively.*CIT
