Another mobile passporting and information advocacy
will be conducted by the Negros Occidental government, April 21-22,
at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Brgy. Mansilingan, in Bacolod City,
a Capitol press release yesterday.
The activity is being held in coordination with
the Department of Foreign Affairs, National Statistics Office, Overseas
Workers Welfare Administration and the Philippine Overseas Employment
Administration. Application forms may now be secured from the Public
Affairs Division, Office of the Governor, at 3rd floor, Capitol
Building fronting the Capitol Park.
The forms will be presented for the issuance
of priority numbers.
At the passporting schedule, applicants are required
to submit the following requirements: priority number; duly filled-up
application forms; two copies of Security Papers; original copy
of birth certificate authenticated by the NSO; certified true copy
of voter's affidavit or any documents with valid identification
cards such as NBI clearance, driver's license, and employees ID;
three copies of passport-sized colored pictures with white background;
and original copy of marriage contract for married female applicants.
Fees for the processing of both new passports and renewal of old
ones is P750 per applicant, while that for the NSO birth certificate
authentication is P125. Inquiries about the activity may be made
with the PAD at 434-0631, the press release added.*

Talisay
residents get
PhilHealth cards
PhilHealth cards were distributed to 1,252 residents
of Talisay City, Negros Occidental by Rep. Jose Carlos Lacson (3rd
district, Neg. Occ.) through the Philippine Health Corporation under
the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Fund recently, a press release
from Lacson's office said.
An orientation on the benefits from the Enrolled-Indigents
Membership of PhilHealth was also conducted by Owen Magalona, PhilHelth
Bacolod officer-in-charge, and Val Sombito, the press release added.*

Red
Cross offers first aid training
The Philippine National Red-Cross Bacolod City chapter
will conduct a series of trainings to individuals on pre-hospital
care like first aid and basic life support, March 27 to April 1,
a PNRC press release said yesterday.
It also said that the training in First Aid and
Basic Life Support came in the wake of the Ultra stampede that killed
many individuals due to cardiac arrest. The group noted that if
there were by-standers who know how to perform CPR, lives could
have been saved.
Registration for the training will start March
21.

resto to open
in Talisay today
The grand opening and blessing of Burgies, located
at Bonifacio Street, Talisay City, Negros Occidental will be held
today.
Rep. Jose Carlos Lacson (3rd district, Neg.Occ),
assisted by Mayor Eric Saratan and Monet Lacson Jr. will cut the
inaugural ribbon while Fr. Joel Naranja, parish priest of San Nicolas
de Tolentino Parish Church will officiate at the blessing at 9 a.m.,
a press release from the management said.
The Burgies Bakeshop and Restaurant, Web Station,
Café Jose and Resto Bar, Steak Joint and B-B-Q Grill will be open
to the public at 1 p.m. up to 9 p.m.
Its Jane's Hall can accommodate up to 60 persons.
There will be a special promo and free "pulutan"
for customers, with live acoustic band to entertain them, the press
release said. Café, Resto Bar, Steak Joint and B-B-Q Grills will
be open from 4 to 11 p.m.
