A 48-year-old man stabbed his visiting brother-in-law who allegedly
attacked him first during a drinking spree last week in Brgy. Canggabo,
La Libertad, Oriental Negros.
Police identified the victim as Bimboy Tolero, 37, single
of Sitio Tubod, Brgy. Pacuan, La Libertad and the suspect as Eduardo
Godolobe, 48, of Canggabo. Godolobe has been charged with homicide.
Police reports reaching the Philippine National Police provincial
command said that, before the incident, Tolero visited the family
of his sister in Canggabo. During the visit, the victim and his
brother-in-law decided to have a drinking session along with their
other relatives in the suspect's house.
Later, Tolero and Godolobe figured in a heated argument
that led Tolero to attack his brother-in-law with a bolo.
But Godolobe parried the attack, took hold of another bolo
and hacked Tolero several times causing his instant death.
Godolobe escaped after the incident, but surrendered to the police
the next morning.*
