The second leg of the Rotary District Governor's Cup unfolds Saturday at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Amateur golfers from all over the Philippines as well as players from the United States and United Kingdom will participate in the two-day event that is also known as the Rotary "Golf for a Cause" Tournament.

The proceeds of the tournament will benefit the Negrenses in the rural areas who avail the annual medical missions of the organizing Rotary Club of Bacolod Marapara, RCBM president Alfredo "Peb" Reyes said.

The first leg of the RDGC competitions was staged in Iloilo City, while the third and final leg will be held in Zamboanga City.

Reyes said the tournament, which is sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc., DHL and the Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort, is an important part of Rotary's annual fund-raising program.

The registration fee is pegged at P1,000 including the awards night dinner and mulligan, and the participants can sign up on Saturday at the NOGCC, he said.

Interested golfers who wish to join the event may contact Reyes at mobile number 09189013030 or tournament director Bert Canlas at mobile no. 09173015526. *CIT
