The provinces of Cebu and Oriental Negros are just a few minutes away from each other with the commissioning of fastcrafts aside from the daily pumpboat service.

Sibulan Mayor Antonio Renacia said the application of Rubi Navigation for the Sibulan-Liloan route was approved at a public hearing last week.

Renacia has expressed hopes that the favorable endorsement of a fastcract service via the Sibulan to Liloan rotue will be given positive action by the Philippine Ports Authority.

Renacia said he believes that additional trips will mean additional revenues for the municipality, aside from giving passengers the choice to either ride the pumpboats or the fastcraft for their own convenience. Besides, the mayor believes, when there's competition, it is for the betterment of the traveling public.

The municipality gets P10 for every passenger as terminal fee.*JG
