Generali Pilipinas has chosen Bacolod City as its first expansion
site in the Visayas because the company believes that there is good
business potential in the city, GP Visayas regional manager BJ Legaspi
yesterday said.
Generali Pilipinas, an Italian-based insurance firm, opened
its Bacolod Sales Office yesterday at Robinsons Metro-Bacolod in
Araneta Street, Bacolod City.
Legaspi said their company also plans to put up sales offices
in Iloilo and Tacloban in the coming months or years. He said they
have chosen Bacolod City as their first expansion site because they
see a new generation of businesses here, as well as, entrepreneurs
who are already successful in the industry.
Generali Pilipinas has offices in Manila, Cebu and Davao and
has been operating in the country for the last five years with the
SM group and Banco de Oro as its local partners.
Joe Ferreria, Generali Pilipinas chief marketing officer,
yesterday said that during one of their meetings, he explained that
with the mental mindset of the people in the city and the province,
he is confident that the opening of an office in Bacolod will boost
their performance. He said that he believes that was a validating
point for the SM group because shortly thereafter, it started building
a mall in Bacolod. " I think the signs or handwriting on the wall
says that this part of the country will become very great," he added.
Ferreria said GP is the number one insurance company in Europe.
"Our positioning in the market is to help the ordinary Filipino
manage his finances better, " he said. Knowing that the issues of
the Filipino family is financial management, we build products which
help them save money.*CGS
