Businessman faces
double murder raps
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The police yesterday filed two counts of murder and frustrated murder against a businessman tagged as a suspect in the death of two persons and for causing injury to a minor in Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City, last month.

Facing a string of criminal complaints before the Bago City Regional Trial Court is Raymond Christopher Hilado, alias RC, a businessman and son of a sugar planter, Supt. Alex Belonio said.

Police reports said that Hilado allegedly shot his neighbor, Armando Udtuhan, on Feb. 26 in Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City. Stray bullets hit Albert de la Peņa in the nape, and caused his death. Louella Mariz, niece of Armando, was also injured, the police said.

Seven empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene by Bago policemen who responded to the incident.

Hilado is nowhere to be found now, Belonio said.

Murder and frustrated murder charges are also being readied by the police against ex-rebel Rodelio Oliveros who tops the list of 10 most-wanted persons in Bago City, and has pending arrest warrants for robbery with homicide, murder and robbery.

Belonio said Oliveros, who bears the alias of "Ka Jim," was also tagged as a suspect in the death of tricycle driver Jover Abong. Hit by a stray bullet on the left leg was Eddie Limson, a passenger of the tricycle driven by Abong.

The killing of Abong was allegedly triggered by a land conflict. Police investigations show that the group of Oliveros had also been tagged in the killing of a kagawad of Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City, last year.

Belonio said Oliveros shot Abong as he was getting off his tricycle.

Meanwhile, a certain Vicente Bandanillo Benag, a 33, a tuba gatherer, was also shot dead by a still unidentified suspect yesterday in Brgy. Don E. Villegas, Vallehermoso, Oriental Negros. Lt. Col. Jess Manangquil, 11th Infantry Battalion commander, said Benag was on his way home when he was shot with a .38 caliber revolver by an unidentified gunman.*GPB
