Ted Jimenez and Ruel Inciong of the Manila Polo Club defeated
the duo of Mark Antonio and Jobie Limas to snare the men's doubles-level
1 title in the Bacolod leg of the Kimoni Badminton Tour at the Shuttler's
Haven Badminton Courts recently.
The pair of Johnny Peregrino and Dodoy Guanzon beat Alex Ching
and Edjohn Javellana to win the men's doubles-level 2 crown, while
Cebu Poona Club shuttlers King Maruhon and Roger Semeon topped the
men's doubles-level 3 division by winning against Omay Demonteverde
and Jude Infante in the finals.
John Marquez and Ref Contratista ruled the men's doubles-level
4 category after posting a win over brothers Rufo and John Paul
Arcenas of Playgium as brothers Rene and Felipe Lacson snatched
the men's doubles-level 5 championship by beating Dindo Jalandoni
and Ting-ting Tan. The duo of Medy Martinez and Hayley Tan reigned
supreme in the ladies' doubles-level 1 by prevailing against Grace
Constantino and Jinky Co, while Playgium shuttlers Aime Ajera and
Chinky Ignacio defeated Rona Crisostomo and Mary Ann Ynayan to grab
the ladies' doubles-level 5 title.
The pairs of Bacoleņos Rose Togado and Michelli Yusay, and
Karen Matti and Sheila Su also ruled their respective categories
to win the crowns.
Cadiznons Ernesto Lavao and Merry Joy Fernandez claimed
the 15-Under juniors' mixed doubles crown after scoring a triumph
against the tandem of Christian Crisostomo and Nikki Servando in
the finals.
Lavao and Fernandez received Pinoy Power 888 rackets, P2,000,
and Kimoni gift checks and trophies for winning their category.
Ruling the 16-20 years old mixed doubles division were Reneil Japsay
and Lynette Esico by prevailing over Talisaynons John Paul Deanon
and Hillary Baje.
The titlists in the different categories have qualified
to compete in the Battle of the Champions on July 22-23 at the Market
Market Activity Center in Taguig, Manila.
The badminton tour, which is also supported by Mindworks Inc.,
Willy Agbulos, Gary Tulio, Nats Castillo, Emma Mina, Chuck Go and
Rahkee Villarosa, will stage its other legs in Davao City (March
18-19), Tacloban City (April 8-9), Cebu (May 13-14), Kidapawan (May
27-28), Iloilo City in June and Manila (July 1, 2, 8 and 9). *CIT
