Bredco port claim is treason, Caņa says.*

Bredco port owned
by city gov't: mayor
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Plain and simple treason.

That was Bacolod Councilor Lyndon Caņa's reaction yesterday to the claim of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. that the city government does not own the Bacolod port.

Emilio Jison, Top Harbor International Inc. managing director, had said that the city can only take over its own property, after being informed that the city negotiating panel had recommended the takeover of the port management and operation. moremoremore

SuperFerry breakdown
at sea delays arrival
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The SuperFerry 9 bound for Bacolod, Iligan and Ozamis from Manila with 1,300 passengers on board developed "technical problems" at sea delaying its scheduled arrival in Bacolod City from 1 p.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today.

John Rojo, assistant vice president for corporate communications, said the SuperFerry 9 developed steering problems near Balbagon Island in the northeastern part of Panay at 10:15 a.m. yesterday. As of yesterday afternoon it was awaiting the arrival of SuperFerry 2 to tow it to Bacolod City, he said.

Of the 1,300 passengers and crew on board, 391 were bound for Bacolod. The passengers are all right, they are being fed and entertained, he said.

Recto sues former BF
for 'lascivious' moves
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Recto: I miss my baby.*

Fitness expert Marie Roxanne "Plinky" Recto said she filed a criminal complaint for acts of lasciviousness before the Bago City Prosecutor's Office yesterday against her former live-in partner from Negros Occidental, who is an influential lawyer.

She said the incident happened on Jan. 18, 2006 while she was attending the hearing of the civil case her former boyfriend filed against her before the Bago City Regional Trial Court for damages and custody of their 17-month-old son.

"I was holding my son and I had my back to my former boyfriend when he started kissing my neck and his left hand touched my left breast in court prompting me to kick him so he would release me, and he has the gall to charge me with slight physical injuries and direct assault," she said. moremoremore
