Amcham calls for
participants in BOP 2006

The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Inc. will sponsor for the fourth time a Business Orientation Program for Students on April 3 to 8, 2006 in Manila, Cebu and Davao, a press release from organizers said.

BOP is a one-week immersion program that will provide student leaders from all over the country the opportunity to have first-hand experience and exposure to the country's business environment through on-site tours and in-depth discussions with management professionals of AmCham member organizations and corporations.

Student participants will also be required to take the Test of English for International Communication as part of AmCham's advocacy to promote English proficiency in the country, the press release said. The culminating activity will include a round of presentations by the student participants that will gauge their knowledge and acumen of business and economic issues.

AmCham Executive Director Robert Sears said he hopes that through the BOP, which develops the students' analytical and management skills, they are helping mold a new generation of hands-on and effective business leaders, the press release said.
