Aged get
Pinoy Big Brother funds
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Bacoleņo showbiz personality Christian Vasquez, who was evicted Saturday from the ABS-CBN reality show Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition, yesterday turned over P40,000 to the St. Vincent's Home for the Aged in Bacolod City.

The amount was Vasquez's winnings in the Celebrity Challenge segment of the show, the 29-year-old actor told the DAILY STAR in a telephone interview last night. Christian, a 2002 Enterprise Economics graduate of the University of St. La Salle, is set to star in a movie called "Manay Po", where he joins an ensemble cast that includes multi-awarded Cherry Pie Pecache, Polo Ravales, PBB Celebrity Edition housemate John Prats and Polo Ravales, among others.

The film is Regal Film's Mother's Day offering this year, said Christian, who went around the city yesterday to thank those who supported him in the reality show.

Vasquez said he has also received feelers to star in a fantasy television series or "fantaserye" in ABS-CBN. Christian, who had the least number of votes against fellow housemates Rustom Padilla and Rico Robles last week that led to his eviction, said he is happy that his two sons, Matthew, 8, and Jason, 7, are back in his arms again, after he was booted out.

But Vasquez is flying back to Manila today in time for Sunday's first shooting day of "Manay Po".

"The PBB experience taught me many lessons and gave me a deeper understanding of life. But there were also things that I did inside the house that were misinterpreted," he said.

Christian, who had worked as a flight attendant before his modeling stints in Manila, earned his first big break in 2002 when a PLDT TV commercial capitalized on his Ilonggo accent that later propelled him to popularity. *CPT
