Three children of the Tan couple who were murdered in Iloilo City
told the Iloilo court yesterday that they want to stay with their
maternal grandmother, a relative said yesterday.
They are among the five orphaned children of businessman Francisco
"Bobby" Tan, and his wife, Cynthia Marie, who were stabbed dead
along with their 5-year-old daughter, Kathy, in their house in Molo,
Iloilo, on Jan. 9.
The orphaned children are aged 17, 15, 14, 11 and 1. Tan's
aunt, Conchita, has filed a petition for habeas corpus and is seeking
custody of the children who are now with their grandmother, Rosalinda
Garcia Zayco, their relative, Boy Zayco, said yesterday.
He said three of the five orphans were questioned yesterday
before Judge Adirano Savillo of the Iloilo Regional Trial Court
on where they want to live and they said they wanted to be with
their maternal grandmother.
Another hearing has been set for March 15.
The police had tagged the businessman's sons Archie Tan, 23, and
John Michael, 18, for the murders and complaints have been filed
against them for murder and parricide before the Iloilo City Prosecutor's
Office.*CPG
