new cop chiefs
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Negros Occidental police director, Senior Supt. Charles Calima, yesterday said new police chiefs have been designated for the cities of Kabankalan and Cadiz, as well as the town of Salvador Benedicto, effective March 8.

Supt. Roderick Alba assumed command of the Kabankalan Station and Supt. Norberto Boston the Cadiz City Police Station, previously commanded by Inspectors Louie Figueroa and Ruben Elardo, respectively.

Senior Inspector Leonardo Angcon replaced Senior Inspector Arnold Mesias as police chief of Salvador Benedicto, police records show.

The command of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Group was taken over by Chief Inspector Calixto Mabugat, while Senior Inspector Ronnie Grajo has been designated as Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office camp commander.

Calima said Supt. Larry Decena is being eyed to head the 4th Provincial Mobile Group in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, replacing Senior Inspector Jose Labuyo.

He added that Labuyo may replace Senior Inspector Regidor Alvarado as Hinigaran police chief, or he will occupy the position of deputy city police chief of Talisay.

Alvarado is due for schooling for career advancement, he said.

Alba, Mabugat and Martir who recently completed the nine-month Public Safety Officers Senior Executive Course and are recipients of study grants at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Los Angeles, California, used to be assigned at the Bacolod City Police Office.

Calima said Martir has taken over as chief of the Operations and Plans Division of the Negros Occidental police from Senior Inspector Vicente Jalocon, who is now processing his retirement papers.

Supt. Abdullah Magarang was also designated as chief of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force in Negros Occidental.*GPB
