Negros Occidental police director, Senior Supt. Charles Calima,
yesterday said new police chiefs have been designated for the cities
of Kabankalan and Cadiz, as well as the town of Salvador Benedicto,
effective March 8.
Supt. Roderick Alba assumed command of the Kabankalan Station
and Supt. Norberto Boston the Cadiz City Police Station, previously
commanded by Inspectors Louie Figueroa and Ruben Elardo, respectively.
Senior Inspector Leonardo Angcon replaced Senior Inspector
Arnold Mesias as police chief of Salvador Benedicto, police records
show.
The command of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Group was taken
over by Chief Inspector Calixto Mabugat, while Senior Inspector
Ronnie Grajo has been designated as Negros Occidental Police Provincial
Office camp commander.
Calima said Supt. Larry Decena is being eyed to head the
4th Provincial Mobile Group in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, replacing
Senior Inspector Jose Labuyo.
He added that Labuyo may replace Senior Inspector Regidor
Alvarado as Hinigaran police chief, or he will occupy the position
of deputy city police chief of Talisay.
Alvarado is due for schooling for career advancement, he said.
Alba, Mabugat and Martir who recently completed the nine-month
Public Safety Officers Senior Executive Course and are recipients
of study grants at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Los Angeles,
California, used to be assigned at the Bacolod City Police Office.
Calima said Martir has taken over as chief of the Operations
and Plans Division of the Negros Occidental police from Senior Inspector
Vicente Jalocon, who is now processing his retirement papers.
Supt. Abdullah Magarang was also designated as chief of the Anti-Illegal
Drugs Special Operations Task Force in Negros Occidental.*GPB
