Crismar nips MJ

Crismar Enterprises posted a 69-63 victory over MJ Enterprises Wednesday night to take Game 1 of the best-of-three title showdown of the Your Basketball Athletic Club tournament at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

The Crismar cagers established a 41-33 advantage entering the fourth quarter behind Pangyao Decierdo and Bay Lonzaga's 6 and 5 points, respectively, after only having a slim 26-22 lead at halftime.

Roger Jaype picked up the scoring slack for Crismar to maintain its buffer in the payoff period as he poured in 10 points to finish with a game-high 18 markers. Lonzaga and Decierdo ended up with 12 and 8 points, respectively, while Agustin Javarro chipped in 7 points.

Pacing MJ were Pendot Cortones and Titing Dua as they registered 10 points each, while Mayo Salazar and Nonoy Tan contributed 9 markers apiece in a losing cause

. Crismar and MJ arranged the best-of-three title showdown after scoring victories against Ox Builders and Marjesse Enterprises, respectively, in the semifinals.

In the battle for third best-of-three encounter, Marjesse drew first blood after trouncing Ox Builders, 64-57.

After having a 29-28 lead at halftime, Marjesse pulled away in the third period by outscoring the Builders 14-7 to create a comfortable 43-35 going into the final frame.

Roy Dionela anchored Marjesse's offense as he canned 13 points, while Embo Caņete and James Jaruda scored 11 and 7 points, respectively. The tandem of Bernard Omarrementaria and Dodoy Rebitoy topscored for Ox Builders with 10 points each, while Rene Villacanas added 8 markers. *CIT
