Damage to property through reckless imprudence topped
the list of traffic accidents in Bacolod City from January to February
this year, Bacolod Traffic Management Unit chief, Insp. Balinas,
said yesterday.
Balinas said there were 427 cases of damage to
property through reckless imprudence were reported, followed by
damage to property with physical injuries through reckless imprudence
- 83; physical injuries through reckless imprudence - 49, and homicide
through reckless imprudence - 5.
Traffic records show 15 cases of traffic violation
in the same period, Balinas said.
Meanwhile, Balinas said jeepney operators should
start processing city permits to legalize their operation in the
city. He said they will start apprehending jeepney drivers operating
without city permit or sticker on April 1. He said tricycle operators
without franchises will be arrested for violation of section 8 of
City Ordinance 185, or entering prohibited zone areas such as Lizares
Street, Lopez Jaena, North Drive and San Juan streets.
He said the TMU has arrested 120 tricycle drivers
operating in the city without driver's license from January up to
