A German national lost his wallet containing an undetermined amount
of dollars to a woman who befriended him at Vintage Inn in Dumagute
City early this week.
Michael Fisher, 60, married, told police investigators he
was whiling his time away in front of the inn when the woman, whom
he estimated to be about 28 years old, befriended him.
The woman did not give her name and address, he said. Later,
both agreed to tour the city aboard a pedicab, he said.
But at about 10:30 a.m., Fisher said the woman ordered the
pedicab driver to stop and excused herself, saying she had something
to do for a minute and assured him she will be back. Fisher said
he and the pedicab driver waited for a long time but the woman did
not return.
On checking his pants, Fisher said he found out that his wallet
was gone. He suspected the woman to be the pickpocket.
Meanwhile, a suspected shabu peddler was arrested by the
Task Force 24 in a surveillance operation Thursday.
Nabbed in a buy-bust operation was Sol General, 42, single,
and jobless. Recovered from his possession were 10 sachets, P300
in marked money and P450 believed to be proceeds from the sale of
the contraband.
In an interview, General admitted he had been selling illegal
drugs so he could buy his medicines that cost P210 a day.*RG
