Town employee
survives ambush
BY RENE GENOVE

An employee of the Guihulngan, Oriental Negros town government, was wounded in the thigh when he was reportedly attacked by armed men on arriving home in Brgy. Looc, Guihulngan, recently.

The victim, Ian Tiu, survived the attack, police said.

He later told case investigators that when he arrived at his house on board a motorcycle, he was about to open the gate, when the attackers shot him several times.

Tiu said the suspects left when they saw that he was able to escape. He is now recuperating at the Guihulngan District Hospital.

Responding policemen recovered from the scene of the incident eight spent shells for a 9mm caliber pistol and several distorted slugs for the same gun.

Investigators theorized that the armed men had been waiting for the victim to arrive.*RG
