A son hacked his father at about 9 p.m. Monday in Brgy. Maningcao, Sibulan, Oriental Negros, reportedly due to arguments over the wages being paid to him.

Police identified the victim as Jacinto Taguibulosan and his son as Nilo, both of Maningcao, Sibulan.

The son was allegedly under the influence of intoxicating liquor at the time and, at the height of their argument got a scythe and hacked his father, before escaping.

The elder Taguibulosan sustained a deep wound on his shoulder.

Nilo turned himself in to the police at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, but was released later in the day when his parents said they are not pursuing charges against their son.*RG
