Abducted pupil rescued
BY DONALYN GUERRERO

A nine-year-old elementary pupil reported to have been abducted by a 20-year-old boy in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City at about 5 p.m. Tuesday was rescued by her relatives in Brgy. Mabini, Valladolid in Negros Occidental yesterday.

The girl, whose name is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, said she was resting in their house in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City when her neighbor, "Jailboy Fermisa", invited her to go to the mall.

She said they boarded a passenger jeepney and transferred to another one near the Bacolod Libertad Market and proceeded to Brgy. Mabini in Valladolid town where Jailboy's "grandmother" lives and who served them dinner, she said she went to bed ahead of the others and later, she said she felt Jailboy kissing her neck and face. She said she did not go back to sleep for fear that he would kiss her again.

The next day, she said, several persons entered the house looking for Jailboy's grandmother who had reportedly left to attend a burial in the barangay.

She said one of the men hit Jailboy on the head with a piece of wood and they pulled him outside the house. Her aunt among the men who rescued her, she said.

Her rescuers brought Jailboy to San Enrique and turned him over to the police station, she added.

Carlito Eleuterio, her grandfather who was staying in San Enrique town, said her mother told him that his granddaughter was missing and he went to Bacolod where they reported the incident to Police Precinct 3.

He said one of his neighbors in San Enrique saw his granddaughter in Valladolid and his relatives planned the rescue operation.

Meanwhile, PO2 Rosemarie Diaz of the Women and Children Concern's Desk of Police Precinct 3 yesterday said the minor will be subjected to medical examination at the Bacolod City Health Office today.

Diaz said they are still studying what charges to file against Jailboy who will be turned over by the San Enrique police to the Bacolod police today.*DMG
