WNC: We're acting on
cases vs. students
BY CARLA GOMEZ

West Negros College officials yesterday assured their nursing graduates who are facing administrative charges filed by the Board of Nursing for alleged course overloading, that the college is doing everything it can to resolve the cases at the soonest possible time.

The BON last week released the names of 476 of the 599 WNC nursing graduates who passed the December nurse licensure examination, but said that the licenses of the passers would not be released until the administrative cases are resolved.

WNC vice president Ernesto Arbolario and College of Nursing Dean Zenaida Hilado, in an advisory issued yesterday, said they are coordinating with the Professional Regulation Commission through the BON for the registration and oathtaking of the new nurses and on the administrative cases filed against the about 700 WNC examinees.

The WNC officials said that during their initial meeting with BON officials, they were informed that the oathtaking of the 476 examinees can be administered by the PRC through BON as agreed on during a congressional hearing.

No date has been set yet, Hilado said.

Both Hilado and Arbolario said that on advice of BON, the registration and issuance of licenses for the board passers could be done after the cases, which were filed with the legal department of PRC, have been resolved.*CPG
