The JRR Dizon Foundation, Inc. and the Chess Players Federation of Negros will bid for Bacolod City to host the 2006 Shell Active Youth Chess Tournament in June or July.

The proposed staging of the Shell tournament in Bacolod will mean that more woodpushers from Negros Occidental will be able to compete in the event, Bro. Roly Dizon of the JRRDFI said.

Dizon said he will inform the organizers of the Shell chess hostilities that Bacolod is interested to host the Western Visayas leg of the event, which has been held in Iloilo City for the past years.
