events lined up About 47 events will be played in the 2006 edition of the Western Visayas Regional Athletics Association Meet from March 16 to 21 at the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City, Capiz. The student-athletes in the elementary level will be vying for top honors in 21 events, while the 26 events are lined up for the competitors in the secondary category. The events calendared in the elementary hostilities are
the boys and girls' divisions of athletics, badminton, baseball, chess,
gymnastics, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball,
and the boys' football and sipa, and little league softball. Little
league softball, which was not played in the Palarong Panlalawigan in
Bacolod City last year, was only included by the National Department
of Education in the regional meet last month, Nanette Roa of DepEd said.
