grads topnotchers'
BY CARLA GOMEZ

A West Negros College official yesterday said 38 of the 476 WNC December 2005 Nurse Licensure Examination passers whose withheld results were released by the Board of Nursing last week had scores that placed them among the top 20 examinees.

WNC Vice President Ernesto Arbolario said their official partial list shows that Pearl Angeli Palacios Pedroso had a score of 85.40 to place her in second place, while Lovelle Vargas Lagaña, Francis Te, Aldwin Tejas Rafols and Maria Lina Mirandilla Hagad had scores of 84.20 percent to place them in 8th place.

He also said that in 11th place were Fiona Janay Jumilla and Irish Ann Rendaje Balgos with scores of 83.60 percent; 12th place - Connie Marie Leyritana Pacificador, Darlene Aragones Wong and Christine Cajipo Yaun - 83.40 percent; 14th place - Rosita Theresa Montinola Miranda, Maritess Nonato Garriel and Ma. Bessi Alerta Pulmones - 83 percent;

In 16th place - Danilo Capanas Regozo, Anita de Guzman Valencia, Ann Derequito, Florence Calud Corbita, Jerla Golez Longakit and Magnolia Legarde Framo - 82.60 percent; 17th place - Nelia Jesusa Lingaya Gonzales, Rosario Desabille Abaring, Ellen Mae Rido Lopez, Maureen Rojas Parra, Macy Gallo Silla, and Patrick Raymund Locsin Taruk - 82.40 percent.

In 18th place are Stefan Sia Sulay, Arjone Jonota Arnaiz, Ann Dagiagnao Colinco and Stephanie Tang Chua - 82.20 percent; 19th place - Cherry Portal Ramos, Aimee Serena Ladrido Bayate, Ma. Renee Burgos Barredo, Edda Aura Castronuevo Deza, Michele Ariane Gardose and Pauline Janice Rodríguez Hoy - 82 percent; and in 20th place - Felman Trecho Runin, Rona Rose Donesa Salvilla and Ma Lovelle Valencia, Arbolario said.

The Board of Nursing had withheld the examination results of 599 WNC nursing graduates for alleged course overloading but released the results Thursday last week. BON and Professional Regulation Commission officials, after being grilled at a House budget hearing, had committed to do so.

Of the 599 examines 476 or 79.46 percent passed.

However, the BON, in releasing the examination results of the 599, also filed administrative cases against them for alleged course overloading.

The passers will be allowed to take their oaths but will not be able to avail of their nurse licenses until the administrative cases are resolved, PRC legal division chief Pharson Mamalo said.*CPG
