Pulupandan continued its domination by posting two more victories
over the weekend in the 16-Under boys' division of the Negros Occidental
Volleyball Association-NOCSF Age-Group Volleyball Championship at
the University of St. La Salle Covered Courts in Bacolod City.
The Pulupandan spikers smashed EB Magalona, 25-17, 25-19,
Saturday and Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod, 25-18, 25-23, yesterday
to improve to 5-0 and keep its lead in the 16-Under boys' category.
Silay City grabbed the top spot in the 16-Under girls' division
after registering its three victories. The Silay volleybelles scored
wins against La Consolacion College-Main, 26-24, 25-19; CSA-B, 29-27,
25-23, and MCC, 25-10, 25-11.
Silay also had an impressive run in the 16-Under boys' competitions,
notching its second win after scoring a come-from-behind 22-25,
25-20, 26-24 triumph over St. Joseph's School-La Salle.
CSA-B demolished MCC, 25-5, 25-9, Saturday to claim its second
win, while Mansilingan Christian Academy barged into the win column
by hammering Silay City-based St. Theresita's Academy, 25-15, 25-19.
Other games in the 16-Under girls' category over the weekend
saw host USLS and San Agustin gain their second triumphs. The La
Sallians pounded BNHS, 25-16, 25-7, while CSA-B outlasted La Carlota
City, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21.
The Silay spikers also took the top slot in the 14-Under
boys' division with their third and fourth wins by defeating La
Carlota, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15, and LCC-Main, 25-14, 25-19. La Salle,
ATLETA and La Carlota also posted one win each in the 14-Under boys'
hostilities.
Pacing the 12-Under boys' division is EELMS, which won
against USLS, 25-20, 25-10, and Pulupandan, 25-17, 25-22. La Consolacion
Academy-Murcia ripped St. Benilde School, 25-13, 25-18, in the other
12-Under boys' encounter.
Reigning NOPSSCEA champion Queen of Peace School-B and St.
John's Institute claimed the lead after registering twin victories
Saturday at the 10-Under competitions.
QPS-B dispatched St. Augustine International School-A, 25-18,
25-8, and LCA-Murcia, 25-10, 25-16, in the boys' category, while
SJI posted triumphs over EB Magalona, 25-13, 25-16, and SAIS-A,
25-10, 21-25, 25-16, in the girls' play. Queen of Peace also won
two games in the girls' hostilities by prevailing over USLS-B, 25-22,
21-25, 25-12, and SAIS-B, 25-8, 25-15.
EB Magalona, QPS-A and EELMS also barged into the win
column of the 10-Under boys' division Saturday.
Also winning in the 10-Under girls' competitions were La Salle-A
and B, EB Magalona and Trinity Christian School. *CIT
