Guv's wedding anniversary
Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph and Aida Maraņon recently celebrated
their wedding anniversary at their Sta. Clara residence in Bacolod
City with a private lunch with their immediate families. Aida Maraņon
recalled the first time she met the governor. It was at PNB Victorias
where both were employed. Later, Aida's family decided to put up
their own bank and Joseph was invited to be its president. The rest
is history.
Joseph became a very good provider for his wife and children. Then
he became the long-standing mayor of Sagay, until he was elected
as Governor of Negros Occidental, the position he holds until now.
Beyond being the breadwinner of the family, he is a father who
has taught his children many lessons in life and molded them to
become what they are today - successful Filipinos who have a deeply
rooted love for God, family and country. Despite his hectic schedule,
he always makes time for his family and they often go on bonding
trips during their much-deserved vacations. As a father he is kindhearted,
caring and loving, not only to them but also to everyone, especially
to the less fortunate.

Sunshine Channel is Bacolod's newest cable station. It is headed
by Primo Esleyer under Prime Exponent Entertainment Network. "I
am very happy that many mediamen and businessmen came out and supported
me," Esleyer, founder of the network, said. Having hosted a television
show, Feedback, way back in 1974-86, Esleyer makes a grand comeback
on television though his network. "I saw there was a bright prospect
for media entertainment" he said. Why did he name the channel "Sunshine"?
He said "Sunshine represents hope, development, light and enlightenment."
The Sunshine Network is managed by Amado Villacarlos.*
