Supercross action
shifts to Iloilo
BY CHRISTIAN IRL TAN

The second round of the Camel Supercross International Championship Series unfolds tomorrow at the Santa Barbara Race Track in Iloilo City.

After having tightly-contested battles in the first round of the event, international supercross champions Glenn Aguilar of the Philippines and New Zealander James Robinson are once again expected to showcase close races for the crowns in professionals 125 cc and open divisions.

Robinson took the championship in the professionals open category during the first round of the event that was staged at the Talisay Stadium in Talisay City last month, while Aguilar claimed the pro 125 cc title. Aguilar, a 2004 Asian supercross winner, placed second in the pro open division, while Filipino Jovie Saulog finished third. The veteran Saulog also placed first runner-up in the pro 125 cc as Robinson finished as the second runner-up.

Riders from Canada, Saipan, Hong Kong and Guam will also see action in the Iloilo supercross that is open to all motocross enthusiasts 18 years old and above, organizers said.

Supporting the event are the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association and the International Federation of Motorcycles. *CIT
