Couple jumps bail,
gets 14-year term
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A couple who had jumped bail was sentenced Tuesday to suffer a minimum prison term of 12 years and a maximum of 14 years by Regional Trial Court Branch 30 Judge Crescencio Tan Jr., for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Sentenced were Heraldo and Corazon Aguilar who, Tan said in his decision, failed to attend their scheduled arraignment Tuesday.

Meanwhile, another drug suspect, Raul Olpos, was acquitted by Tan after having been detained at the Dumaguete City jail for about one year.

In another report, a drug suspect identified as Rey Mariano, 32, of Calindagan, Dumaguete was arrested Tuesday at Zone 4, Barangay Looc for possession of two sachets of suspected shabu and P800 in cash.*JG
