The body of a 53-year-old woman was found hanging inside her house Monday in Brgy. Sto. Rosario, Bais City, Oriental Negros.

Police identified the victim as Rosalinda Rodriguez who is believed to have killed herself because of poverty.

Investigators said, Rosalinda's daughter, Gemlodette, discovered her mother's body upon arriving home from school at about 6:45 p.m. Monday.

She told probers she found the body hanging from a seven-foot rope tied to a beam.

Initial police findings said their neighbors had noticed the victim to be depressed allegedly over money problems.

In Mabinay town, meanwhile, a farmer who was sleeping on the road and allegedly under the influence of intoxicating liquor was stabbed dead by an unidentified suspect in Brgy. Bato Tuesday night.

Police yesterday identified the victim as Warlito Deimos, married, of Bato, Mabinay.

Passers-by discovered the body two deep knife wounds on the nape and shoulder, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday near the house of Bienvenida Ballespin, police reports indicated.*RG
