YBAC semifinal encounters on
BY CHRISTIAN IRL TAN

Crismar Enterprises and MJ Enterprises aim to arrange a title showdown when they battle separate opponents in the semifinal round of the Your Basketball Athletic Club tournament tonight at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Crismar collides with Ox Builders in the first game, before MJ takes on Marjesse in the second game. Both MJ and Crismar will be armed with twice-to-beat advantages by finishing as the first and second seeds, respectively, after the eliminations.

MJ rallied past Marjesse to register a 54-51 victory and claim the top spot in the eliminations Wednesday, while Crismar drubbed Ox Builders, 65-48, during their encounter.

MJ and Crismar finished their elimination round campaigns with 4-2 win-loss cards each, while Ox Builders and Marjesse ended up with 2-4 slates apiece.

Trailing 29-35 entering the fourth quarter, the MJ cagers relied on the 11-point explosion of Randy Pudadera in the payoff period to outscore Marjesse, 25-16, in the frame and claim the victory.

Pudadera finished with 14 points to spearhead MJ, while Dods Siopan poured in 13 markers after scoring 8 points in the final quarter.

Also making solid contributions for MJ were Danny Chua, Nonoy Tan and Boyet Ello who canned 12, 10 and 9 markers, respectively.

Pacing Marjesse was James Jaruda as he canned 12 points, while Herman Caņete and Joenel Anico added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Unlike MJ, Crismar never trailed in its clash against Ox Builders after establishing a 12-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Powering the offensive attack of Crismar was Agustin Javarro with 14 points as Gino Amantillo picked up 12 markers. Backstopping the Crismar leading scorers was Pangyao Decierdo by chipping in 10 points.

Fred Garcia topscored for Ox Builders after posting 12 points, while Sunny Tankit and Dodoy Rebitoy added 10 and 8 points, respectively. *CIT
