Dipolog nursing students
eyeing training at NOPH
BY RENE GENOVE

Oriental Negros Gov. George Arnaiz and Sancho Amatong, president of Andres Bonifacio College in Dipolog City, will soon sign an agreement allowing the ABC nursing students to train at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City.

The agreement will set the guidelines for the training of the students. The ABC nursing students are expected to finish training in April 2008.

The ABC Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education.

"We are looking forward to a continuing partnership with the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in our goal of producing quality nurses," Amatong said in his letter to Arnaiz.

Some of the students who are into psychiatric nursing will be deployed to the Talay Rehabilitation Center.

Meanwhile, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Health chaired by Marcelo Adanza, is discussing a plan to increase the training fees at the NOPH so the provincial government could get a share of the revenue.*RG
