'Pink cards an intrusion
on spa workers privacy'
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Requiring women working in spa clinics to secure pink health certificates is like a form of intrusion into their privacy, Bacolod Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue said yesterday.

She said having a pink card is like encouraging them to utilize that part of their body for their business.

P.D. 856 that requires masseurs or massage clinic attendants to undergo regular pap smear or genital examination.

Batapa-Sigue said that if the government wants to regulate the spa clinics, it should instead conduct regular inspections and check the birth certificates of the employees in order to discourage unscrupulous businessmen from exploiting minors.*CGS
